ROi (Resource Optimization & Innovation), widely considered one of the most advanced and integrated provider-owned supply chain organizations in health care, has joined Mazree (www.mazree.com) to enhance collaboration and communication with their suppliers.
Mazree is a business-to-business (B2B) social network for supply chain and business collaboration, connecting buying and selling organizations. Unlike other social networks used by businesses, Mazree was designed to connect companies with companies, not individuals to individuals. The website launched just over a year ago and now has over 1,700 companies on the network.
Mazree has focused its roll-out within the healthcare market. ROi joins Intermountain Healthcare, the largest healthcare provider in the Intermountain West and the largest company in Utah, as early supply chain adopters of the Mazree network.
"We are excited to start utilizing Mazree to help manage our supplier relationships,” said JoAnne Levy, vice president of Integrated Sourcing Solutions for ROi. "Mazree will enable us to provide better communication to current and prospective suppliers.” Utilizing social technology, Mazree has created a simple avenue for buying organizations to connect with their suppliers and share key information. Founder Curtis McEntire explains, “Gone are the days of having to track down everyone’s e-mail address just to share your org chart or bid calendar with your suppliers. Within Mazree, you can share that information in a single post.”
McEntire, a supply chain professional and entrepreneur, started Mazree to solve problems that supply chain organizations consistently face: “I spent several years working in the supply chain. I understand the problems that both buyers and sellers often come up against when working together – lack of information, lack of communication, and inability to effectively track interactions. Existing networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, or Yammer do not solve these buyer-to-supplier problems for us. I built Mazree to solve these problems.”
ROi has plans to utilize one of Mazree’s newest features – an interactive bid calendar that enables suppliers to view buyers’ upcoming bids and “request” to be considered. Levy explains, “We are eager to use the bid calendar features on Mazree. Now, any supplier that is interested in doing business with ROi can review our bid calendar on Mazree and request to be considered for upcoming projects. This will broaden the pool of suppliers to potentially participate in our bid process.”
Mazree’s future vision is to have one network where all buying and selling organizations exist. With each major buying organization that joins, Mazree is getting one step closer to its vision.
McEntire is honored to have ROi join Mazree, “Our team is thrilled to have a leading organization like ROi recognize the value and adopt Mazree. Their presence is a major complement to the network.”
